Emily is an associate lawyer practising primarily in the area of Corporate and Commercial Litigation. Her principal areas of practice include business disputes, construction liens and construction related litigation, contractual disputes, mortgage enforcement, creditors rights and remedies, shareholders rights and remedies and real property disputes.
Emily earned an LL.B. from the Faculty of Law at the University of Kent in England after completing her Bachelor of Social Sciences at the University of Ottawa where she majored in Political Science. While pursuing her law degree, Emily studied Private International Law at the Hague Academy of International Law at the Peace Palace in Den Haag, Netherlands. She later returned to the University of Kent where she earned a Masters in International Corporate/Commercial Law.
Emily is an active member of the Advocates’ Society, where she currently sits on the Young Advocates’ Standing Committee, and acts as Editor of the Keeping Tabs publication.
Emily is an active community member. As a part-time professor at Georgian College, she taught the Business Law course. While residing in Barrie, Emily sat on the Board of Directors of the MacLaren Art Centre, where she also served as Chair of the annual Black Tie Fundraiser from 2013-2016.
